The inside story
Hidden within Lanzarote’s volcanic landscape, Lagomar is one of the island’s most intriguing architectural landmarks. Built into a former quarry of volcanic rock, this labyrinth of caves, tunnels, terraces and gardens feels as though it has been carved directly from the landscape itself. Often linked to a famous local legend involving actor Omar Sharif, Lagomar combines striking design with the island’s dramatic natural surroundings.
As you explore, you can wander through hidden passageways, discover cave rooms tucked into the rock face and enjoy views from terraces overlooking palms, pools and volcanic cliffs. The property also houses a museum and restaurant, offering a closer look at the vision behind its unique design. According to local legend, Omar Sharif bought the house after filming on Lanzarote, only to lose it in a card game the very next day.
